Chapter 6: Exercise, Activities and Overall Physical Fitness for Anyone with COPD

Introduction

Just as with the nutrition chapters of this Guide, there are two Activity and Fitness chapters. This first chapter contains general information about exercise, fitness and activities of daily living that applies to anyone with COPD (or not). It is a good foundation for how to get started with activities that can improve your overall stamina and health. The second activity and fitness chapter provides specific information for people whose exercise is limited by their COPD (Section B, Chapter 11).
